Guidelines for Reading Response Papers

Your reading response paper should be 1/2 to 1 page, or approximately 200-300 words. You can write about any number of things, such as:

1. What you see as the most important themes in the reading;
2. Something that caught your attention that you want to learn more about;
3. Something that really made you think;
4. Something that you think is wrong or incorrect;
5. Something you think would make a good topic for class conversation;
6. Something not mentioned in the reading but that is tangentially related and worth discussing further.

Please email your response papers to me 2 hours before class starts. You should send me your response in the body of an email - no MS Word attachments please!

It will make my life much easier if you note in the subject line of your email if you are in section 126A or 126B.

Please also print your response, bring it to class, and be prepared to share your thoughts.
